Wherever I am, I paint.
Anna Papamarkaki Evans. Painter, born and raised in Athens, with active studios in New York, Washington D.C., Athens and on the Amalfi Coast.
Painting came later, as another pulse, a second language.
Before the canvas came music, theater, choreography and writing. She still writes: poems often come first, and the paintings grow out of them. A whole series, Colori e Parole, is built on words.
She began painting more systematically during a demanding period of her life. She calls each brushstroke an act of balance, a way to find her rhythm and breath again. That habit followed her from city to city.
Everywhere, I set up a studio, everywhere, I painted.

Where she was born, raised and studied. An active studio today in Kifissia, and the city of her first solo show.

A constant place of return, with an active studio today in Vietri sul Mare on the Amalfi Coast. In Cerca di Corte Contarina II, Venezia.

Lived, studied, worked. Au long de la Seine.

Lived, studied, worked. Many works in The White Mirror came from this studio. Sablon, Brussels.

Her main home in the United States, and an active studio today.

An active studio today, on Georgia Avenue.

Creating in Philly.
So far
The White Mirror is not a conclusion.
For years she kept this work private. In January 2026 she showed it for the first time, at the Tsichritzis Visual Arts Foundation in Kifisia. She calls the show a pause in a journey that goes on.
